What I teach
How I teach
This course allows us to cover material from key points in history. One reason I enjoy teaching this course is because the events we will discuss have drastically impacted the world. We will look at these events objectively by reading scholarly articles with opposing ideas, viewing charts and graphs that show facts that have previously been ignored and by dissecting artwork and photographs that were common of these time periods. As a class, we will debate these issues, give persuasive presentations and write about our personal viewpoints as shaped by the material we learn.

Why I teach
"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty"
- Thomas Jefferson I do not believe the is the job of educators to teach students what to think. Rather, it is the job of educators to teach students how to think. Once the students leave the halls of Auburn High School, they will be forced to analyze information and make educated decisions in all aspects of their lives. My desire is to teach my students skills that they can carry on into the future to help not only our city, but our country and our world. |
